Finished

The last pics of my September gallery for Freehand Scraps has been sent off...and I still have scraps left to play with...and 2 full sheets of cardstock! That's after I've altered 2 projects, made 3 layouts, 1 card and a mini album! Samantha posted some sneaks on her blog you might wanna check out. And don't forget about the full reveal September 1st!
And totally irrelevant to any scrappiness..just felt the need to post a pic of P and his first encounter with a worm...

A love/hate relationship as you can tell! You know these will be getting scrapped ;)
Have a great sunday~

You never know.

My heart is sad.
A good friend from high school passed away suddenly.
The last time I saw him was our 10 year class reunion, almost a year ago.
Although we hadn't really stayed in contact since high school, we were good friends then, and many memories came flooding back when I got the message he had died unexpectedly.
I will attend his funeral this tuesday and say one final goodbye.
If you are the praying type, could you send up some prayers on behalf of Patrick's family? I know they could certainly use them.

This is probably not what you came here to read, so I apologize.

I'll be back soon with something crafty.

Did I say sneak?

Once upon a time I vaguely remember promising a sneak peek at September's Freehand Scraps kit......
well here you go:

And that's not all. I have a few more in the works!
I am such a tease ;)

Pun anyone?

There's a challenge over on the October Afternoon blog--create a card using a pun. Perfect time to break out the newest Road Map goodies I have been hoarding and make something!

(also a perfect time to break out the high school english book and remember what a pun is! ha! Just kidding Mrs. Montgomery )

*You Are A Trip* card. All supplies are October Afternoon, except for the woodgrain paper and buttons. Had fun stitching on this and punching out the little road signs. Broke out my travel design card on the Slice for the loaded down car...yep. Looks like some road trips I've been on! :)
Does anyone really say "you are a trip" anymore? I doubt it.

Anyone going on any fun trips soon? Thinking I'm taking a trip to bed. Night.

in love

"I'm in love. I'm in love. And I don't care who knows it!"
remember that quote from the movie Elf?

Well that is how I feel about the September kit from Freehand Scraps.
Think BRAND SPANKIN' NEW releases. Think VINTAGE. Think WOODGRAIN alpha. Oh yes my friends. Wood. Grain. Eeek! :D

I received my kit just 24 hours ago and have already created 2 things, with more to go! I'll post some sneaks this week, but in the meantime check out Heidi's sneaks...and she doesn't mess around when she says sneaks! Wowza!

If you like to get crafty with fun paper goodies you will WANT THIS KIT!
That's all I'm sayin' :)

Monday, Monday

Gloomy, rainy monday here.
Perfect for scrapbooking...not that I was doing any of that, but I do have one little fun project to share...

A happy banner to remember the fun we've had this summer. Lots of Maya Road goodness here!

I took apart a Maya Road butterfly accordion album and broke out the Maya Mist...oh I just love this stuff! Really wanting to get it in more colors.

Maya Road pins, sheers, rub ons, chipboard, metals, fabric flowers...and trinkets! LOVE how fun these little plastic hearts and butterflies are! Remind me of a charm bracelet I use to have when I was little.

And the paper is from the Sassafras Lass, "Me Likey" line, which I have took upon myself to rename "Me Lovey"! :) I love having this reminder of all things summer, bright and fun. Aven saw it and said, "oh momma! I'm so proud of you! You did such a good job." Nothing beats a compliment like that from your 3 year old :)

What have you created to remind you of summer 2009? I would love to see it!

Smile

So many reasons to smile this week.

Connecting with the ball, no "t" involved.

Sweet Mr. McSmiley...what?...you don't swing the first week of August in your Christmas p.j.'s?

Popsicle breaks.

Sweet mail from a new friend.
And then today...this.

His preschool orientation. He couldn't wait. You would have thought today was his birthday and the gifts were school supplies. He had a death grip on these new treasures!

When I saw this picture...*sigh*. Mommas, watch out--I'm afraid he might be breaking some little girl's heart someday. Seeing him look so big certainly is breaking mine.

3 Things...

1.
Here is a gianormous paper clip and a little mini I made for Nikki Sivils using her up-and-coming-to-a-store-near-you paper line "Henry's Brilliance". These were 2 of 6 projects she took with her to CHA and I needed to wait until after the show to post them. So have a peek!

*Let's ignore the dishpan hands shall we?*
2.
My friend is having a giveaway here. A really good giveaway. Check it out.

3. The boys were taking a bath tonight and from the hall I hear Aven yelling, "moooommmm...Paxton's drinking hiney water!"
*the water in the tub, not toilet :)
And when these moments make you laugh, you know you have arrived at the beautiful place called "motherhood".

Gallery + Downtown

Hello August.

The gallery is up at Freehand Scraps. Loads of talent there. So cool to see how 6 people worked with the same products and created such a variety of projects!

"Go Go Go"

*journaling: "you like to say this while racing down the hall."

"Beauty Shop"

*journaling: "You're never too old to want to feel pretty."

"Just Fine"

*journaling: "I sometimes wish I could go back and tell the two of us that we'd be just fine."

"Don't Bug Me. I'm crafting." door hanger for the scrap room of course :)

"Home Sweet Home"

When I showed Rory this he said, "so you put keys on it?
And when I said yes he responded, "I'm afraid I will break it."
So it's back in the craft room :)

If you have any questions about the layouts/projects/techniques just ask. I would be happy to share! Be sure and get your "Happy Go Lucky" kit and be inspired!

Today I had some much needed solo time and headed downtown.
First stop--RVA

A feast for the eyes. Color and inspiration overload. Love it.

Purchased a few little items, including some vinyl stickers. Checked out Elsie's blog and since I had the same retro file holder I did this..

and then this.

Walked around a bit...

*where DID summer go?*

A bit of thrifting...

And finished it off with a healthy lunch.

:)

I didn't have the boys with me so I COULD have gone somewhere besides Mickey D's...and yet I didn't. Hmm...interesting.

So what did you do this weekend?
