merry & happy

Have you prepped your december mini yet?
Lots of people take the month of december to document their everyday of the season. So many ways of doing this: mini album, 12x12 spread, include it in your project life album...endless possibilities. I admit that I am a failure when it comes to this. I have tried for two years to do it and rarely make it past day 2. Whomp. Whomp.
BUT this is my year. That's right. I will succeed. I have the main pages of the album done...and it's not even Thanksgiving. Whoa.
The cover was my only techniquey thing in the whole album.  I used an exacto knife to cut a wonky star from chipboard and then covered it with dictionary paper sewn together. Now,  I love a complicated mini. I love albums that bust out lots of techniques and mind blowing layouts, but I know me and I know that if I am for real going to get my december documented, it will have to be simple. So that's what I did.
All my photos will come from my phone so I made the album sized so I could easily print from my phone, glue it in, write/type up some journaling and call it good. I'm not even sure I will do every single day. Just maybe some random highlights.
Isn't scrapbooking awesome--however you want to create is perfect. No rules. Love that.

You can read the rest of the process and see all the inside pages here.

  1. i love the cover lexi! and i've found the same to be true about this project...the simpler i make mine, the more successful i am at finishing it! i've got my materials together but need to get a little bit put together. i usually wait for pictures but want to try to build at least a few pages this year. can't wait to see yours full of pictures!

  6. Such a great size and format to actually get it done. I have tried the last wo years - I finished 2011 in November 2012 and I completed 2 days of 2012 so I have decided not to do one this year. Good luck!
