a summer week in project life

How's it going with project life? I am behind, but okay with it. I knew I would be. Two Peas recently got in all the Project Life product and kits (all of which are 25% off right now) so I am thinking I might just take my fave kit (midnight edition), print off some pics on my favorite printer (the only one I use to quickly print photos wirelessly from my iPhone),
Canon SELPHY CP900 White Wireless Color Photo Printerand go back to quickly catch up. Sound like a plan?

I'm also using this kit mingled with my current scrapbooking stash in project life and in layouts as well. My latest Project Life video went up on Saturday (you can see it here) and that is exactly what I did--mixed in a core kit with existing stash. I even stamped a bit on a few of the journaling cards.

One of my favorite embellishments to easily add to a project life page are paper clips. I mean, what can be easier that slipping on a paper clip? (I'll answer that...nothing.) Last week I used one of the exclusive Two Peas arrows clips and this week I just saw they have star shapes in.

If you know me, you know I'm a girl who loves stars. I already have the gold ones in my cart, but they are several colors you can check out...along with new exclusive wood veneer cards..that I'm thinking would slip very nicely into a project life spread.
For this project life spread, I focused on what a week of our summer has looked like--pool time, cool treat time, reading time and downtown adventure time.  That's a pretty typical week so it was nice to have it all contained in one spot to remember. It was also the week Aven read his most favorite book ever (treasure island) and Paxton got his kindergarten shots. One of those memories more fun than the other :( But all worth documenting.

(and it should have probably been "crying selves". noted.)

The color scheme ended up being black & white with touches of red, yellow and a bit of blue. I am a big embellishment-er (is that a word?), but on a few cards left them, dare I say, flat? I did. The flat cards came by way of typed journaling, washi tape, sewing, stamping, stickers and die cuts. Flat does not mean boring. I am embracing that idea more and more. It was more a focus on the colors and patterns. More thinking about it instead of just slapping stuff on. (But this girl does love to slap on some product and make it so NOT flat. Case in point.)
