by the sea

We haven't really received much snow for the last two winters so we spent our spring break sledding and tubing.. Very fun. Being in the cold didn't feel much like a "spring" break, but it helped knowing we were coming back to warmer temps.
Then the forecast this week is calling for snow here at home. Are you kidding me? That figures.
And all this snow talk is making me wish we were back here by the sea...
This layout went up as part of the monthly theme at Two Peas in a Bucket. The March theme was "Shape up your Scrapbooking"...all about about using shapes on your projects. I went hardcore cameo on this layout in a few ways: the title is a design from the silhouette store, straight up cut on patterned paper. Adding vellum to the word 'sea' I royally messed up (I do that OFTEN) so I just freehand cut some waves to add. I think it worked.
Another way I used a die cut was as a mask. Lay it down and spray some ink. I then followed the lines to sew and add journaling.
And then there's the anchors. Some people love them. Some people don't. I fall into the fan category. One didn't cut all the way through so I just left it and added a staple. You can see more here.
You can check out all the amazing layouts from the other garden girls here. They are so super talented.

  2. I'm a fan of anchors too. Probably because I grew up in a New England town on the Atlantic! I like that your layouts are "out of the box." The collection of elements along the bottom third of the page are so nicely arranged...
