it's the little things

It's August 1st which means there is a whole new batch of projects in the garden at Two Peas. The theme this month: "it's the little things".  Isn't that what we do as scrapbookers? Capture the little things...those tiny precious, fleeting, blink-and -they-are-gone moments so we can look back and remember that feeling, that day that will never happen again? At least, that is what I like to think I do when I scrapbook.
I couldn't decide what photo to use because you could go anywhere with this theme. I finally settled on an iphone pic of me on a sunny day with a root beer float. That's not very earth shattering, is it? It was a day I had a few hours to myself. I was out and about in the beautiful weather and decided it had been awhile since I had a root beer float. As I was just standing there I thought, "it really IS the little things that make life great." I came across a quote on pinterest (no idea the author. I tried to find it, so link it if you know!) and it said exactly perfectly what I couldn't. "Maybe you just have to live for the small things like being called pretty or someone picking up the pen you dropped or laughing so hard your stomach hurts. Maybe that's all that matters at the end of the day."
Because the theme was about "little things" I used a little photo. I am a fan of tiny photos on layouts. I know some people aren't. One way to make them appear big is to layer. ("Layered. Like nachos." That's a quote from Breaking Bad. If you get it, we are bff's.)

You can see and read more about my layout here and while there, check out the other layouts from the design team. They kinda blow me away every month.
