Celebrate December

Raise your hand if you are an Elle's Studio fan? *raises hand
Elle's Studio has been having a "Celebrate December" event this month and the designers & inspiration & prizes have been fabulous.
I was asked to create some tags. I hadn't made any tags in awhile and it has me wanting to make more! It's such a fun little size to work with and quick to finish.
You can see the whole post here. Be sure to check out all the inspiration and leave a comment on the Elle's Studio blog for a chance to win some great prizes.
We continued our Christmas tradition of making a gingerbread house this weekend.
I love these little sugary hands.

Several years ago I got super ambitious and bought cookie cutters to cut out the house shapes (Williams Sonoma cookie cutters I might add), made the cookie dough and homemade icing. It was going to be awesome. I was going to make Martha proud and create the best gingerbread house ever!
It was an epic disaster.
Now I buy a gingerbread house kit, using the pre made cookies and icing along with leftover halloween and Christmas parade candy and you know what? The kids love it just as much as the homemade one. Actually they love it more because this one doesn't crumble and actually resembles a house ;) because to kids it doesn't matter if it comes from a box. It doesn't matter if the tree isn't decorated perfectly. It doesn't matter that you are not caught up on your December mini album. Ok, that last one was for me. It's about tradition. It's about family. And especially in light of the horrific event last week...I am doing my best to stop and soak up this special time of year. And those sweet, sticky fingers.
