a new space

I love scrap rooms. I have a lovely little board all pinned with pretty craft spaces. It's funny to see the similarities in so many of the photos I've pinned.
White walls....
White floors...
{if you know the source let me know}
Bits of color...
Organized...
...but in a fun, funky way.
Which is nothing like my room. at. all.
I'm just a messy scrapper. Nothing will change that I suppose. I'm totally fine with it, but I would like a more organized, white space to be messy in. Hee hee!

We've decided to convert a small room in our basement (our john deere room if any of you know what that is. I think it's a midwest thing.) into a homeschool/scrap room. This way we can gain back our spare room so family and friends aren't sleeping on the floor when they come to visit. We went on a trip last weekend to visit family and while there hit up Ikea. Oh, Ikea. How we love thee! I grabbed this desk...
...except with a set of drawers on each end. A white desk? I know. Craziness. It won't be white for long I can assure you. But for the price of the tabletop my husband said once it gets too messy he could cover the top with wood veneer and stain it. We grabbed this flooring to go over the current concrete floor...

...again with the white. I can't help it. I've always wanted white wood looking floors. This was a super cheap option. I'm just hoping it's as easy to install as it looks. Famous last words ;) And then this rug..

I've wanted this rug since it first came out. They only had the display model in the store and it had soda spilled on it. Bummer. Rory said he would ask if they would sell it with a discount. I told him not to bother, that they don't sell displays. He asked anyway. They sold it to us for 10% off. Score one for the husband! Future scrap room--->
We celebrated with a cheap ice cream, which if you are pushing out 3 carts should be free, I think.
I can't wait to see the room come together. If you have any great links to room inspiration or crafty organization I would love to see.
See, I can organize. In small doses :) I need it though because I am making room for new CHA goodness arriving. In case you missed it, all new Amy Tangerine, Studio Calico, Lily BeePebbles and more is in at Two Peas in a Bucket. Yay for new scrap goodies! The best kind of shopping if you ask me ;)
I'm off to an all day crop tomorrow. Fun times ahead :)
Enjoy your weekend!

  3. We finished my scrap office up two years ago, so haven't really looked at inspiration for a scrap room in awhile. But it was fun at the time!
I wish I would have been on pinterest back then though. So much great inspiration there :)
