Garden Girl Digest. August Edition

My first Garden Girl blog hop! yay! So happy you hopped over from Kandis' blog  :)
(If you have no idea what I am talking about or missed a stop along the way, start here on the Two Peas blog :))

My first garden project was released on Monday, with the focus on back to school.
I had never scrapped a layout where I compared two photos like this. One from the first day of school last year and one from this year, exactly one year apart. The comparison of the photos kinda blew this momma away. Sigh. Can you believe it's school time already? I might be in denial. Scrapping about it always helps though, right? Cheap therapy I say ;) You can see more photos, including where I hid my journaling, an epic description (I was excited about my first project!) and my supplies used HERE.

There are some super talented projects popping up in the gallery lately, as evidence by member Walesk here.
Loving the stamping and the bright colors of this layout. Just screams summer! And this momma of two boys can appreciate getting a good selphie shot with both boys looking at the camera ;)
Currently I'm working on this for next Monday's Garden Girl release. Betcha can't guess what it's about ;) I'm spying some current favorites: Cameo cutting, washi, arrows and enamel dots.

My Mind's Eye Enamel Dots. I mentioned these above. I am not ashamed to say I must have every package. And multiple packages. I've always loved little jewels, but they aren't used as much on boy pages. Enter enamel dots! AKA: Boy Bling. Bling for boy pages. Get some.

Crate Paper's Little Boy Blue. I used some of this on my back to school project--doesn't have to be used just for baby boys! I'm also using it on my project next week. Works for big boys too ;)

Number It Stamp by Elle's Studio. All the new Elle's Studio stamps are currently sitting in my bucket! It was hard to choose one stamp from Elle's new line. This one is totally versatile and I think will work especially great with project life/december daily scrappers.

October Afternoon's Woodland Park sprinkler set. If you are a fan of blues and greens, like I am or you  are a boy momma scrapbooker, like I am...this is the set to have.

Freckled Fawn Gold/Silver Stars Washi. Are you kidding me? A tape with mini stars AND they are gold & silver? Get in my bucket. Freckled Fawn has several tapes in the store I "need" ;) What I NEED to do is go to washi tape anonymous or something.

Up for grabs is a spot in the newest mini workshop at Two Peas in a Bucket, Words Unsaid, by Jen Gallacher!

Memories fade quickly and making sure we include all our stories within our scrapbooks can seem daunting. In this Mini Workshop, Garden Girl Jen Gallacher shares her approach for meaningful journaling. Jen is a dedicated journal keeper and has kept personal journals for over 30 years (ever since she was old enough to write). Now she combines her love of record keeping with scrapbooking! This journaling-centered class covers topics from holidays, to day-to-day events, to family moments, and several often forgotten subjects.

Lessons include:
Chapter 1: Special Events
Chapter 2: Day-to-Day Living
Chapter 3: Stories to Remember

Each chapter includes 10 BRAND NEW layouts for a total of 30 layouts. An instructional video is provided for each chapter in which Jen discusses her philosophy on journaling each memory, as well as, her creative approach to journaling design. Each chapter video highlights the start-to-finish process of one of the chapter layouts. Watch Jen select the photos, journal her story, and complete a layout all under 30 minutes!

Beyond mere journaling, Jen discusses challenges to telling the story, creative methods for incorporating journaling on the page, and product suggestions for a fresh approach to journaling design. A helpful PDF is provided for each chapter and combines into a complete, comprehensive guide to meaningful journaling. Each layout is highlighted on its own page and includes the complete supply list, a close-up photo, and the approach to both documenting the story and the design of the journaling. Additional materials found within the PDF include topic ideas, journaling product ideas, and tips and tricks for journaling.

To enter to win a spot in the class leave a comment and be sure to include your Two Peas user name. If you sign up for the class and happen to win you will be reimbursed or you can give your spot away to a friend :) I'll draw a winer on Monday.
Thanks for joining me today!

Next on the hop is the talented Wilna.

  34. I love the contrasts you can see in those two photos! I love this idea - I'm totally going to search for some photos of my kids when they were little. Two of my daughters have little ones going off to Grade 1 and I think I can make two very cool layouts using photos of them starting grade 1. I'd love to be in the class to get more memories recovered and saved.
